Varkala is a coastal town and a pilgrim center situated near Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. Situated around 51 km north-west of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), Varkala is famous for the picturesque Varkala Papanasam Beach which makes it one of the most favourable tourist destinations in Kerala.
