If you are a person who prefers handling business, data, and entertainment in one-go, perhaps Apple iPhone 3G is worth a try.
Apple iPhone 3G Features
Apple iPhone 3G screen, to begin with, hasn’t changed. It is big and bright, but still a magnet for finger prints and smudges.

The back of the Apple iPhone is no longer matte aluminum, which has given way for black/white plastic. However, this has made the phone lot symmetrical.
Two proximity sensors sense when the phone is held to the ears. Camera is marginally better than the one in its predecessor. Further improvements incorporated in the Apple iPhone 3G includes the headphone jack that is now flush, and the speaker volume, which can be jacked up significantly than its previous model, Apple iPhone 1.1.4.
Speed
Apple iPhone 3G is quick. It goes without any mention. Depending upon the service provider, the iPhone 3G provides data speeds in the range 300-800 Kbps. GPS acquisition in the phone is also found to be quick enough, even though this aspect is also location specific. However, it is too early for iPhone to replace your car’s dedicated GPS navigation.
Software
It is one aspect that makes or breaks a smartphone. The user interface in the new iPhone had turned a lot user friendly than its predecessor. The touch screen is quick to respond to finger movements/touch, so is the software to selections, even though it could get a bit slow while navigating long menus. Selection/enlarging of icons/photos follow the traditional mouse principle of single/double clicks or taps. On the downside, for some menu options, there is no back button to retrace one’s way out of the menu, which may irritate most users. There is a ‘home’ key for sure, but it takes one out of the application they are in to the main screen. Another apparent glitch in the software is the inability to see/access other programs running in the background without exiting the current one.
The QWERTY virtual keypad is easy to use, especially in combination with Apple’s auto-correction software that is quite accurate most of the times.
Applications/Multimedia
Apple’s Safari browser is a robust one that makes browsing a true pleasure, especially in 3G data speeds. The zoom feature further ensures that users can see the webpage text in whatever size they prefer. The iPod come handy for music buffs, and the music experience it offers is clearly superior to the music software present in other popular smartphones. However, the absence of stereo Bluetooth comes as a surprising miss, so is the voice dial feature and MMS. Another downside: users need to be in the WiFi network to download music files, while other comparable phones allow users to do it via the 3G network. Apart from these, typical organizing tools such as calendar, alarm clock, calculator, notes feature, world clock, stopwatch, and timer are all present in the iPhone 3G.
The battery life is decent, even though 3G use drains it faster than usual.
